Background
Training and experience
My clinical foundations were built in the NHS, where I spent more than twelve years as a mental health nurse, working with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of services. Alongside nursing, I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at postgraduate level.
Working in busy NHS settings taught me what careful care looks like under pressure: close listening, steady pacing, and clear thinking. At Cheta Wellness I bring the same posture to a quieter, more individual setting, one where there is room to think together without the rush.
How I work
My approach to therapy
I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help people make practical sense of what they are carrying. Our first session is unhurried: we talk through what has brought you here and shape the best way forward together.
From there, the work is collaborative. We build a shared understanding of how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interacting for you, and we design a plan that feels supportive and manageable. I will not rush you, and I will not ask you to take steps before you are ready.
Therapy is not only about talking. It is also about learning practical tools you can carry into daily life, tools that keep working long after our last session.
My aim is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood.
What matters in this work
What I bring
Respect for your pace
We move only as fast as feels safe. Steady progress beats forced progress.
Clarity over jargon
I will explain what we are doing, and why, in plain words, never in clinical shorthand.
Neuro-affirming
Differences are respected. Strengths matter. Support is shaped around how you actually work, not a default template.
Honest about fit
If CBT is not the right approach for what you are bringing, I will say so, and help you find somewhere more suitable.
Cultural sensitivity
An awareness of cultural context and social graces, with therapy held in respect for who you are and where you come from.
Who I work with
Who this is for
I work with children, young people, and adults, in person at our Milton Keynes consulting room and online across the UK. Common presentations include anxiety and separation anxiety, low mood, OCD, trauma and PTSD, stress, and difficulties with emotion regulation.
A neuro-affirming focus
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent children, young people, and adults, including those experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, low confidence, or challenges around everyday demands. The approach is neuro-affirming: differences are respected, strengths are recognised, and support is shaped around the individual.
